Jack's tone is unique because he played with distortion, natural instrument hollow body guitar and ultra fat mid range underpowered bass amps. The original Fender Bassman 50 Watt with a Super Six Ten speakers were and are the Holy Grail of thick almost Tuba and Bari Sax frequencies, just jacked through a wall of six ten inch speakers. Psychedelic to the bone. Today's ultra sub frequency bass Riggs are basically UN hearable aka unlistenable because by Definition the freqs are too low to hear. They just throb and bounce ultra low frequencies around a room like an earthquake. Shaking walls and windows and moving internal human organs around. Which at low over all volume actually works, but at higher over all stage volumes is really, really, really fucked up. For the body & mind. Anything lower in frequency than a kick drum is fucked in a live mix or studio mix... God bless Jack Casady.

The framing on the interview looks almost manipulated, Scott is a giant of a man physically and this is almost like watching someone who has overcome a disability in that his questions, demeanor, and sincerity is so incredibly warm. Jorma is a gift, just being where he was in the greater vibration of history, if you will, was difficult if you just consider the male ego of the lead guitarist of the era of his youth. Truly, a phenomenal artist, Quah is an accomplishment of a lifetime all by itself. Then play Serpent of Dreams to rock out! And that’s a life away from JA. (I loved the positive comments about Paul Kantner in this interview.

When I first got to L.A. I was hired on a movie crew to drive the big vans called Honeywagons...I was sent to a hotel on Wilshire BLVD in Beverly Hills to pick up Greg Allman and his (girlfriend at the time) and drive them to the movie set...it was a 40 min drive give or take, it was 1988 a low budget straight to video horror/slasher film named "Rush Week". My memory of pulling up to the hotel and then seeing Gregg Allman for the first time was surreal. As he and his girlfriend approached the Honeywagon, he said hello in a very soft voice, I opened the door for him and his girlfriend, they settled in, I shut the door and remember as I was driving, I would look in the review mirror and find him looking at me... Our eye contact was frequent, and electric. I was very shy too, I was 25 back then and resembled Andie Macdowell quite a bit. When we arrived at the set I opened the door and he reached for my hand and said Thank you while he melted me with his very demure eye contact. My God he was beautiful! At the time I knew his name, and knew very little of his music, so I was not starstruck, but rather he put me in a soft trance like state...he exuded sexapeal out of his soul. He was magnetic inside and out. Only now do I really get the depth of talent, heart and soul. RIP Greg, you are missed and loved very much. I wish I could have gotten to know you better.

The group called Mountain with Leslie & Corky still playing in the 90's.. Excited to finally be watching live in concert a favorite band since one's teenage years.. We had just imbibed some really good Kashmir hashish from the Hindu Kush... Got a good vibe going standing at the back of the small club, when we get to first greet Leslie West. He was astoundingly in good shape which I didn't expect and a very gracious person saying Hello ! Corky Laing instead was an outright asshole , SOUR CAT he therefor proceeds to shove his F-U Finger into my face...Then proceeds to scowl at me while muttering something nasty,,! lol Thanks a lot Corky for ruining my experience seeing Mountain....!

Can't believe there aren't more comments, views, likes, etc on this one. This interview shows a side a Maya that others have not. She appears very serious about her point of view, but not without humor. I have previously only known her as one of the "Twinz", almost without a voice, then I find this interview where she indeed DOES have a voice and a lot of compelling thoughts and experiences to convey. I will continue to search for more insights into her...
